Apple released the US version of its 1.1.2 iPhone firmware software. It is available now via iTunes automatic upgrade. To perform the update, connect an iPhone to a computer with iTunes 7.5. The iPhone will be recognized by the iTunes software and download the necessary firmware update. There are several new minor features for the US version of the firmware. However, the new features are not as exciting as the 1.1.1 iPhone firmware update.

The 1.1.2 firmware for the iPhone cell phone and iPod touch both have a new GUI jailbreak. The software is available and runs under Mac OS X and Windows. Once connected, the software downloads the data from the iPod touch or iPhone, upgrades it with the new Jailbreak, installs SSH.app and installer.app and reloads it back to the device. It should take about 10 minutes if done correctly and after it’s done, the device should be updated to 1.1.2.

Apple has released it’s underpinnings of Mac OS X 10.5 Leopard. Darwin, as it is called, is now at version 9, and it happens to be open-source! It is also the BSD/Unix foundation of Tiger.

Apple has finally launched the iPhone in Köln (Cologne), Germany and the Regent Street Apple Store in the United Kingdom. People are finally able to put finger to touch sensitive screen and get used to the exceptional rotation censor. Most users right away will be trying to figure out how to use the keyboard in mobile Safari. The main tip there is to rotate the screen in landscape view to get teh larger buttons.

Apple has updated its iPhone cell phone firmware to 1.1.2. This was a timely update for two reasons. The first reason was that Apple just released an updated Quicktime 7.3 and iTunes 7.5. Commonly, when Apple updates these programs in concert an iPhone cell phone firmware update is around the corner.

Mac OS X 10.5 Leopard has now included the Bluetooth A2DP audio profile. A2DP is the audio profile for stereo music on devices. It specifically sends a stereo signal to Bluetooth headsets so that you can listen to music and other audio from a Bluetooth equipped Macintosh computer.
