iRovr for iPhone

The Apple iPhone now has a place on the Internet to share pictures, bookmark web sites and talk to other iPhone users.  iRovr is a social networking Web 2.0 site and is built with the iPhone’s Safari in mind.

Launching over two weeks ago, over 400 users have signed up.  iRovr is a kind of site which is becoming a new trend on the Internet.  These kinds of sites are being produced just for the iPhone.  With more people buying the iPhone, the sites like iPHONEcolony and iRovr will continue to appear.  It is all in an effort to gain a user base which may eventually send text ads to mobile users.  There are more mobile users that use their cellphones for longer periods of time than that of people who use their main computer at home or the office.

It appears that everything on iRovr is done via email.  At the register section of the site, it asks you to use your primary iPhone email account.  This is used so that iRovr knows where to put data you send to it.  There are several email addresses that iRovr sends to you.  Sending an email to one posts to a blog or sending to another posts to the photo section.  This is helpful as it does not require you to be on their site to use their service.

There are several features currently being added and improved.  Already, there are several themes for your profiles, but the level of customization is not as good as MySpace.  iRovr is free to use and looks like it might be fun as well. Via ReadWriteWeb.
