iPhone WebAppls DirectoryiPhone and iPod Touch users waiting for an official word from Apple on installable third party software programs are not exactly excited.  Apple has launched a WebApps library which is not much more than a favorites or bookmark list.

Apple is dubbing their WebApps list as,”Part fun. Part function.”  Once visited, the web site has a featured list of five web apps.  Currently, the number one web app which is accessed through the mobile Safari browser is Facebook.  The second featured web site is Bejeweled, Fandango, Big Bang Sudoku and finally Ultralingua Mobile.  All of the featured mobile Safari web sites are staff picks.

The Apple directory site gives users a brief overview of what the programs are, how to access them and even offers developers of online sites for the iPhone a link to submit their site.  Once into the web apps library it is split up into categories, has a most recent tab, most popular tab and an alphabetical site listing tab.  For those looking for something specific, there is a search bar as well.
