iMac Apple Computer EFI Firmware Update 1.3The aluminum  iMac has also received  the EFI  firmware update treatment as the MacBook, MacBook Pro and MacBook Air did earlier today.  The update version for the firmware on the iMac has also reached 1.3.

Apple’s description for the update says, “Fixes several issues to improve the stability of iMac computers.”

This update can be downloaded through a number of means, either through the Software Update program under the Apple Menu, through the system preferences software update window and finally it can be downloaded directly from Apple’s support page.

One last note with this software is that, “To complete the firmware update process, please follow the instructions in the update application (/Applications/Utilities/iMac EFI Firmware Update.app).  The updater will launch automatically when the Installer closes.”

The aluminum iMac has had its issues when it first came out but now with Mac OS X Leopard 10.5 and with several firmware updates, it has become a much more stable and enjoyable Apple computer to use.
