MacBook MacBook Pro MacBook Air EFI Firmware UpdateTuesday’s are known in the computer industry as the update day.  Well, today is no exception.  Apple has released several firmware updates for the consumer MacBook, MacBook Pro and the newer, light and thin MacBook Air.  As usual, Apple says little to nothing about what changes there are in the updates.

Apple says, “This update fixes several issues to improve the stability of [MacBook, MacBook Pro, and MacBook Air] computers.”

The updates can be downloaded by going to the Software Update under the Apple menu or by going to the System Preferences and then clicking on the Software Update option.  Apple also has these updates available from the Apple support page as separate package downloads for each model.

One last note for the EFI firmware updates is that, “To complete the firmware update process, please follow the instructions in the update application (/Applications/Utilities/MacBook EFI Firmware Update.app).  The updated will launch automatically when the Installer closes.  I any event, its probably a good idea to do the update as future Mac OS X updates may require it to run properly.
