As you can see above, a new iPod software update has been released for the 5th Generation iPod, before the classic debuted.
As with most iPod software updates, it includes “bug fixes.” The new 1.3 software upgrade for 5G and 5.5G iPods, that’s about all we know so far. To get the upgrade open the iTunes software plug-in the iPod and the software update will show up. Via Tuaw.
