On Wednesday, Boingo Wireless announced that it is giving free Wi-Fi access on its network during August. The free access is limited to 13 major airports in the US and Canada. The airports that have the free access are:
- LGA LaGuardia Airport
- JFK John F. Kennedy International Airport
- MSP Minneapolis-St. Paul International Airport
- YYZ Toronto Pearson International Airport
- STL Lambert-St. Louis International Airport
- ORD O’Hare International Airport
- AZO Kalamazoo/Battle Creek International Airport
- MDW Midway International Airport
- BWI Baltimore/Washington International Thurgood Marshall Airport
- OKC Will Rogers World Airport
- BNA Nashville International Airport
- EWR Newark Liberty International Airport
- DTW Detroit Metropolitan Wayne County Airport
Apple iPhone users are able to access the free Wi-Fi network by entering their email address in the login field on the iPhone’s Web browser Safari. Boingo is hoping to take advantage of the large installed user base of iPhone users and get them to sign up for their hotspot service. They sell access packages like T-Mobile’s HotSpot service on their 100,000 hotspots which start at $21.95 USD per month.
