iPhone Firmware 1.01

The Apple iPhone firmware1.0.1 is available now through iTunes.  It is mentioned on the software update window in iTunes that it specifically has bug fixes.  The most important item this update takes care of is the Safari security breach that was discovered in the first part of last month.  The security hack allowed the iPhone to be taken control of when a user visited a malicious Web page.  Unfortunately, this update does not install MMS or multimedia messaging software, chat software or flash mobile.

iFuntasticfor the iPhone still works after the update according to some iPhone users.  Some adventurous users are reporting that hacked iPhones need to be fully restored first in order for this firmware update to install.  The Apple iPhone cellphone requires it goes through the activation process after installation.  YouTube lists now work in addition that the “This Week” section is fixed where it no longer duplicates the information of the “All Time” tab.

IMAP folders now work through exchange servers.  Users are reporting that when an email is deleted in outlook, the email message is then deleted from the iPhone.  The iPhone Dev Team has noticed in the full list of changes for the firmware is that many programs have been changed.  These include the Mail, Address Book and Music Player.

Users are still waiting for all of the other programs most cell phones come with which may be available on the next firmware update.  At least Apple has decided to release this in relative short order.  It will take a few days for most users to see if these changes are for the positive. Via Gizmodo.
