22 iPhone Tips and Tricks Part 3iPhone users purchased the iPhone for a lot of reasons but the main one is ease of use.  The tips and tricks for the iPhone cell phone in this final part of the three part series should help with the e-mail application.

E-mail sent when there is no network access may have disappeared.  These lost e-mails are not gone for good.  They re-appear in a temporary Outgoing folder that is created to hold the messages until there is network access again.  To see which messages are being held, go to the main screen of the sending account.

To mark messages as unread after they have been read is not obvious inside of the e-mail software on the iPhone.  To do this, tap on a message that has been read, tap on the Details button, which shows a Mark As Unread button.  Once this button is tapped the message will display a blue dot, which shows the user that the message has not been read.

Naming two e-mail accounts the same name will confuse the Mail software.  It will copy settings from one account over to the other.  The only way to fix this confusion is to delete one of the accounts and then re-create the e-mail settings with a new name.

Sometimes users just want to start a draft e-mail message and send it out at a later time.  Saving draft e-mail message in the Mail software program is not obvious.  To do this tap on the Cancel button inside of a draft e-mail message.  Then tap on the option to Save, Cancel, or Don’t Save.  Tap the Save button and then the message will be sent to the Drafts folder.  If the e-mail account does not have a drafts folder one will be created.  E-mail messages sometimes take a few minutes to show up in the draft folder on the iPhone.
