Record sales in developing regions, the new 2015 Mustang GT 500 and an amazing glimpse at the future of the Ford Motor Company are some of the things I learned about on my recent visit to their World Headquarters in Dearborn, Michigan.

The last few years have been rough on the auto industry as a whole. Many of the car companies in the US have had to sell divisions and even ask for a bailout from the government. Ford may have had to pair down by a few subsidiaries, but they never took a bailout. That’s what makes covering this company so interesting.

The automated home was the futuristic promise of many world fairs, even going as far as to show robots as helpers. Most of everything that was exhibited is now a reality. However, pricing up until recently has been out of reach for the average gadget consumer. That’s where Belkin’s WeMo switch, the well-designed Nest automatic thermostat and the Dropcam Pro come into action. On Saturday September 28th, 2013, my interview with Doug Parker, host of WBOB 600 AM Weekend Travel Show in Jacksonville, Florida aired. We discussed a New Years Eve party at Tao Las Vegas with Grammy award winning artist Miguel, upcoming Bruno Mars concerts at the Cosmopolitan of Las Vegas and the annual haunted attraction Fright Dome in the Circus Circus Las Vegas.

Flying to Las Vegas from Jacksonville and from around the country, is easier now with direct flights via Southwest Airlines. The airline also has a vacation services page that helps travelers to book flights, hotel accommodations and car rentals, all at once.
