Logitech Harmony Elite Alexa Echo Remote Hub Review
Logitech Harmony Elite Alexa Echo Remote Hub Review

Setting up my voice assistant to control various smart devices was fun to setup initially, though after using it for a month, it became routine. There had to be a better way to get all of my smart home devices to work in sync.

I then added a TCL 55” 4K HDR Smart TV with Roku. Using a basic remote control did not make sense after the investment I made into smart home gear. The logical next step was to find the best remote control that would work with my smart TV and a voice assistant. Logitech’s Harmony Elite works with everything I had and is compatible with 270,000 smart home gadgets.

The voice assistant Alexa is great at controlling multiple smart home devices one by one. Finding out that I could control multiple devices at the same time, via playlists on my Logitech Harmony, is my favorite feature.

All I had to do was choose which smart home gadgets to include on a playlist, assign values to those that have a range of functions, like smart lights and give it a name. The next time I wanted the lights dimmed to 50% and the overhead fan turned off, was to ask my voice assistant to turn on my “Evening” playlist.

The Harmony Elite remote senses movement and back-lights each key for easier night viewing, much like laptop keyboards do when being used at night. This is my next favorite feature because finding the right button can be a guessing game with inferior remotes.

Finally, the Logitech system reduces clutter from multiple remotes on the ottoman or coffee table. Before the Harmony Elite, I had four remote controls, now I have one that controls everything.

The charging base keeps its battery topped off. I wish my TiVo remote had a rechargeable battery as I am constantly buying AAA batteries to keep it operational. The Harmony Elite’s battery lasts quite a while off of the charger base too.

I find myself bringing the supercharged remote with me upstairs at night. That way, when I head downstairs in the morning, I can put my living room in “Breakfast” mode before I get there. My smart home speaker starts playing easy listening music and lowers the fan by one third power.

The Harmony Elite effortlessly puts you in control of your smart gadgets and home entertainment system from one handy remote. With the availability of smart speakers like the MEGABLAST, also from Logitech, get clear room filling sound with a voice assistant that is always ready to put you in the center of your personalized home experience.
