The new version of iTunes supports custom ringtones for the Apple iPhone by adding an additional 99 cents on top of the cost of the song.  The extra 99 cents buy’s the iPhone user the ability to select up to 30 seconds of the song purchased.  The 30 seconds can be from anywhere in the song.

There are currently 500,000 “ringtoneable” songs at launch which should be sometime next week.  Apple iPhone users can finally pick the coolest parts of songs to impress their non iPhone using friends. Via Engadget.
