Mac OS X 10.5 Leopard Retail BoxApple has released Leopard Mac OS 10.5.  Tonight is the official event at Apple stores, but some lucky users who pre-ordered are receiving them now.  Users in the UK and Australia and reporting that mail-ordered copies are arriving as well.  So far the upgrade results have been positive.  Although there are a few Mac fans that are not finding the upgrade process so pain free.  It is recommended to follow the steps to prepare your Mac for Leopard before installing any new operating system.

With over 300 plus new features introduced in Mac OS 10.5, it will take some time to filter through the general changes of the new system to see what users are finding helps them through their work flow.

One of the biggest questions is whether or not Boot Camp, Apple’s system to boot Windows Vista or XP, would be updated and included with Leopard.  It has been confirmed that the software has not only been updated but there are new drivers supplied on the Mac OS 10.5 DVD.  If users already have Boot Camp installed prior to the Leopard upgrade, the installation software will guide users through an upgrade for it as well.  Enjoy the release day as I know I will of Leopard Mac OS X 10.5.
