Apple Aluminum Keyboard Firmware Update 1.0

Apple’s Aluminum keyboard has received a firmware update and is now at version 1.0.  Both the wired and wireless versions of the keyboard have been updated.  These keyboards ship either by themselves or with new Mac systems.  Apple’s explanation of what this firmware update is after the break.

Apple says, “This firmware update addresses an issue with the aluminum Apple Keyboard and the aluminum Apple Wireless Keyboard where a key may repeat unexpectedly while typing.  The update also addresses other issues.  Mac OS X 10.5.2 is required before installing this update.”

The firmware update for both keyboards can be downloaded either through Apple’s software update program or through the Apple support page.  Once downloaded from either of the above methods, the update will be located in the Utilities folder (/Applications/Utilites/).  Run the program and follow any on screen instructions to complete.
