Smartphones and wearables are seemingly everywhere. When it comes time to choose the right premium pair, it’s sensible to research how well they work in everyday situations. Samsung’s 5th generation phablet Note and the slightly older Gear S were my choices for testing during several grueling events and a busy travel schedule. Both the Samsung Galaxy Note 5 and Gear S devices are enabled with cellular technology from AT&T.
Imagine flying across the world being able to stream your favorite Netflix shows, YouTube videos, download large app updates and live stream a soccer match. That is the promise of Gogo’s new all satellite based 2Ku in-flight WiFi hardware. The technology available from Gogo up until now has either been air-to-ground or ATG, ATG4 with double the modems and triple the bandwidth and a single Ku satellite connection.
I travel frequently and finding secure WiFi at restaurants, hotels or in airports is an exercise in futility. That is why I also carry a wireless hotspot. Verizon and NETGEAR have come up with their new Jetpack 4G LTE Mobile Hotspot. I like to use the Verizon Jetpack while waiting at crowded gates in airports as nearly everyone else is always trying to connect to an overloaded access point. I enjoy having a stable and speedy connection via Verizon. Enter the Verizon Jetpack 4G LTE Mobile Hotspot AC791L From NETGEAR.

Verizon Jetpack 4G LTE Mobile Hotspot AC791L Unboxing by Chris Rauschnot @24k
The Verizon Jetpack 4G LTE Mobile Hotspot AC791L from NETGEAR is a compact, easy to setup, dual-band mobile device. HTC is known throughout the smartphone industry as creating premium quality, solid phones with metallic designs that keep fans coming back to each year. A few years ago I tested the HTC One M7, HTC’s first in this line. They incorporated a premium metallic curved back, two excellent sounding forward facing speakers, great battery life and the first UltraPixel rear facing camera. HTC has continued with refining this phone line for the US market and is now available on Verizon.
